Arkansas CE Requirements for License Renewal

Arkansas.jpegAs a nurse in the state of Arkansas, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license. All of our CE activities are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). 

Renewal Requirements

RN

  • Every two years
    • 15 practice focused contact hours from a nationally recognized or state continuing education approval body recognized by the ASBN 
LPN
  • Every two years
    • 15 practice focused contact hours from a nationally recognized or state continuing education approval body recognized by the ASBN
Advanced Practice
  • Advanced practice registered nurses with prescriptive authority must complete an additional 5 contact hours of pharmacotherapeutics related to specialty certification.
    • APRNs with prescriptive authority shall complete five (5) contact hours of pharmacotherapeutics continuing education in the APRN’s area of certification each biennium prior to license renewal. Two (2) of the prescribing hours must contain information related to maintaining professional boundaries and the prescribing rules, regulations, and laws that apply to APRNs in Arkansas. In order to meet this requirement, you will need to complete the course Advanced Practice Nursing in Arkansas (2 contact hours). This must be completed prior to the renewal of your license.
