Following a conversation with a colleague about the importance of getting nursing students comfortable communicating with other health care providers, my colleague directed me to a recent AJN editorial ("Where Are the Nurses?" July), which discusses the importance of nurses' voices being heard. You are right in pointing out the shortsightedness of decisions to remove nurses from or not include them at the policy table.

I plan on using this editorial when I discuss with my students their role in communicating the value of nursing and in representing our profession.
