Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic affected clinical placements for nursing students throughout the United States, especially in rural areas. Public service announcements were created through a collaborative service-learning project between the school of nursing and the university radio station. Baccalaureate nursing students developed and delivered short public service announcements focused on issues of loneliness, stress, and anxiety and provided information about community resources. The alignment of this meaningful project with course learning outcomes gave students exposure to the social determinants of health as well as best practices in mental health outreach.
