The Journal of Perinatal & Neonatal Nursing (JPNN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lynette A. Hamlin, PhD, CNM, FACNM, FAAN, as the new Perinatal Editor for the Journal effective with issue 36:1. Lynette is currently Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Daniel K. Inouye School of Nursing in Bethesda, Maryland. She holds a Secondary Appointment at the College of Allied Health Sciences, Uniformed Services University. She is currently affiliated with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Her PhD is from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her Certificate in Midwifery from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Lynette has held various educational and administrative positions in nursing including roles at St Joseph's College in Maine, the University of South Carolina-Upstate, the University of New Hampshire, Yale University School of Nursing, and Marquette University, among others. She is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Nursing and the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She has numerous publications in clinical midwifery care, advanced nursing practice, and nursing education. She is the Editor of Contexts of Care: Advanced Practice Nursing text published by Jones & Bartlett in 2014. She has presented at numerous international and national forums.

She has been a peer reviewer for JPNN since 2012. She is also a peer reviewer for Policy, Politics, & Nursing Practice, Public Health Nursing, Journal of Healthcare for the Poor and Underserved (JHCPU), MCN: The American Journal of Maternal Child Nursing, Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health, The Internet Journal of Advanced Nursing Practice, and the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, & Neonatal Nursing (JOGNN).
