Regarding "Distracting Nursing" (Viewpoint, September): I graduated from nursing school in 1958. As a nurse, I was treated with respect. Now that I am retired, I still am. Why would nurses wish to change a good thing? I am indignant about the whole idea of calling nurses something other than nurses. I went from one extreme work situation to another and am proud of it. In all of these situations, a smile, a hug, or reassurance from nurses went a long way. Please continue to push for a nurse to be called a nurse.
