From September 14-20, 2020, NANN celebrated Neonatal Nurses Week by honoring the many members of the neonatal nursing profession.

NANN activities included social media contests asking the public to give their units a shout-out, show throwback pictures from the beginning of their nursing days, highlight a mentor in their life, and share why they love the neonatal nursing profession.

Neonatal intensive care units across the world found special ways to honor their nurses and make them feel valued within their amazing profession. Thank you to each and every one of you for doing what you do for your profession, patients, and their families every day!

NANN'S FIRST VIRTUAL CONFERENCE WAS A SUCCESS!

As the world has created a new normal including social distancing and mask wearing, one thing has stayed the same through these times-a great fall NANN conference experience! We had more than 800 nurses from around the world join us for NANN Virtual from October 21-23, to learn about important clinical topics and research, network with neonatal peers and industry experts, and enjoy engaging virtual attendee experiences. Our first virtual event could not have gone any better thanks to all our amazing attendees-it really was the next best thing to being together in person!

Highlights included keynote addresses on the foundations of practicing compassion, exploring different ethical considerations in prematurity, and finding your purpose, as well as a late-breaking bonus general session on health equity and cultural competency, and so many opportunities for networking and fun. Attendees were able to connect with others through our chat feature, special interest group discussion forums, and conference buddy program. Our Virtual Expo provided great opportunities for participants to connect with industry leaders to bring technology solutions and updates back to their home teams. Check out NANN's Facebook page to see more of our NANN Virtual highlights!

SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT FOR NANN'S 2021 CONFERENCE

The 2021 NANN Call for Abstracts is now open. NANN and the Program Planning Committee invite you to submit an abstract during the 2021 Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado, September 15-18, 2021. The deadline to apply is January 7, 2021.

The planning committee has identified the need to cover a wide range of topics that will appeal to both the novice and expert neonatal nurses. As a result, we have provided a list of topics and areas of interest in order to make the application selection process less cumbersome and more diverse to better meet the educational needs of the conference attendees. The list is not inclusive and is only meant to serve as a guide when submitting your abstract. We encourage you to suggest your own ideas, present your own research findings, or share your knowledge on a topic of interest. Please keep in mind that application submissions should focus on nursing, be state-of-the-art, be evidence-based, and challenge neonatal nurses at all levels of expertise.
