I was surprised to read that nurse coworkers were worse than physicians [when it comes to bullying] ("A Task Force to Address Bullying," February). I started my career in the OR, and the surgeons threw items they didn't want and yelled at the students. Oddly, on the postanesthesia care unit physicians looked to us nurses 100% and we did the extubating. In our hospital we had one problematic cardiologist. My manager said I got the first and only known letter of apology from him (I had hung up on him during his third call to yell at me).
