England to spend more on nursing education. The agency in charge of training England's health care workers released its plan this summer to shift more spending toward nursing education and worker training. Health Education England's plan aims to create a more flexible workforce capable of delivering care closer to patients' homes. The agency has an annual budget of $8.5 billion, and officials said they hope to shift money from physician training toward the development of nonphysician staff. There is also an increased emphasis on continuing education for existing workers.
