Thanks for printing an obituary for Mary Woody (In Memoriam, June). I'm sorry that it looks now as if Mary helped integrate the American Nurses Association (ANA), when really she helped integrate the state and local affiliates of the ANA in Georgia. At that time, the ANA was threatening Georgia with expulsion if it remained segregated. So Mary and a handful of other Georgia nurses made sure they all voted for the same progressive nurses in the state elections.
