December 20, 2010 |
Dear
Colleague,
This last issue of the year is always a time for me to reflect on what has happened over the past 12 months. It has been a big year for nursing and healthcare - passage of the Affordable Care Act of 2010, The Future of Nursing Report, and the whistleblower case against two nurses in Texas are a few of the highlights that quickly come to my mind. In 2010, we also saw big changes in CPR recommendations , the devastating earthquake in Haiti, and the withdrawal of the original study citing a link between vaccines and autism.
Here at NursingCenter, we’ve continued our mission of sharing the latest clinical and professional information and news from our journals and newsfeed, as well as providing you with a multitude of CE opportunities. I’ve enjoyed pulling together our Focus On collections to bring you compilations of topical resources right at your fingertips. I hope you’ve enjoyed our eNewsletters as well as free access to all our patient education tools.
A highlight for me this year has been interacting with you on our social media platforms. On our Facebook page, we’ve learned from each other through comments, quick quizzes, and discussions. Twitter has been a vast source of two-way information sharing and conversation as well. As for our blog, what a neat way to be able to “chat.” I hope our discussions can continue!
To wrap up 2010, we’ve compiled our top 10 lists below. Also, after a year of daily nursing tips on Twitter, I thought I’d compile 25 of my favorites to share with you. You can access them here. We’ll be looking for you to share your own nursing tips with us in 2011 - stay tuned!
Have a wonderful holiday season!
Lisa
