Nurses Make the Difference
Happy National Nurses Week 2024! We are proud of your work and proud to support you as you care for patients and demonstrate to the world the power of nurses.
Nursing is a caring profession, and this is evident everyday by the care we deliver to our patients. For National Nurses Week, let's also show gratitude and kindness by caring for ourselves and our colleagues.

As many of you know, I still practice as an acute care/critical care nurse practitioner. Where I practice, we routinely have nursing students doing their clinical rotation on all our floors and in our critical care units. In my hospital, the critical care NPs respond to and lead all cardiac arrest, rapid response, and stroke codes that are called. Self-care for nurses is not something new. As nurses, we tend to put the needs of others before our own self-care. It’s part of who we are. However, we can’t continue to ask so much of ourselves and our colleagues, and it’s time to prioritize self-care and learn ways to prevent burnout in nursing. Time is running out; we need to protect and support one another.
Find words of understanding and wisdom from other nurses, strategies to improve self-care and resilience, along with tools and methods to help prevent burnout.
