Abstract
Empagliflozin (Jardiance) and the combination drug empagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride (Synjardy) have been approved to treat pediatric type 2 diabetes in children ages 10 years and older.
Nurses and NPs should provide education on the importance of maintaining control of type 2 diabetes to decrease the risk of long-term complications.
