The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV)

The NCADV is dedicated to supporting survivors and addressing conditions that lead to domestic violence such as patriarchy, privilege, racism, sexism, and classism. Programs include webinars, volunteer opportunities, and collaborative projects, such as Project Opal, which is a partnership with the National Domestic Violence Hotline toward instituting a national ecosystem of holistic and inclusive services, policy, education, and resources for survivors of domestic violence and the advocates who work closely with them.

 

The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN)

The NCTSN promotes access to healthcare services for children and families who have experienced or witnessed traumatic domestic events. Its goal is to improve children's lives by providing evidence-based, trauma-informed care. The group also offers online and in-person training for healthcare professionals and families on child traumatic stress, assessment, and interventions.

Safe Horizon is the largest nonprofit in the US that focuses on helping and supporting victims of domestic violence. They operate mental health clinics that exclusively treat trauma of abuse, eight domestic violence shelters across New York City, and a domestic violence hotline open 24 hours a day.

Despite its name, this organization offers legal services to people of all genders to address domestic and sexual violence. Started by a group of lawyers, teachers, and advocates, it provides state-specific "plain language" explanations of laws related to domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, and operates a 24/7 confidential email hotline for basic legal questions, attorney referrals, and emotional support for victims, survivors, family members, and advocates.
