Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss the use of group work in the classroom in order to enhance critical thinking and maximize learning opportunities. Using group work in teaching requires a systematic approach to plan group work, organize types of group work, and develop group work evaluation. Benefits of group work include increased comprehension and retention of material, opportunity to learn group skills, and transfer of these skills to the workplace.
