Abstract

Throughout the years, many researchers have focused on treatment and prevention of multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is often a debilitating and progressive disease without a known cure. More researchers are investigating the key role that vitamin D has in autoimmune disease management, including MS. With its multifunctional role in health, vitamin D offers promise as a potential therapy for improving the quality of life of the estimated 2.1 million people worldwide living with MS. This article examines the research data behind the effects of vitamin D supplementation on the management of MS symptoms.
