In the United States, the demand for dermatologic services continues to exceed the supply of dermatologists. In many centers, wait times for new patient appointments exceed 1 month. Over the past decade, the American Academy of Dermatology has followed trends in the dermatology workforce by performing mail surveys in 2002, 2005, and 2007.
