[black small square] The Wong Baker FACES scale, commonly used to rate pain in children, has six faces ranging from happy to sad-not five, as you stated in "Pain Management by the Numbers: Using Rating Scales Effectively" (Controlling Pain, November 2007).* Confusion may arise because the scale measures pain from 0 to 5.
