I disagree with the reader who thinks a journal for men in nursing is discriminatory and sets the profession back 30 years ("Why Men in Nursing?" Letters, February 2007).* I appreciate a journal that paves the way for men to be recognized as a viable and meaningful part of the nursing profession.

If you flip through an issue of Nursing2007, you'll see that most pictures show female nurses. Do I feel that this is wrong? Absolutely not. That's just the way it is. But as a man, I find it refreshing to read a journal that shows other publications, employers, and retailers that men are here to stay-and that we offer an untapped market.
