Objectives: Improve access to services for individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI), increase awareness among professionals, and strengthen and develop community resources through resource coordination. Hypothesis: By offeringindividualized resource coordination while concurrently training public mental health professionals and other community service providers, individuals are more likely to be satisfactorily linked to appropriate services. Participants: Maryland Mental Hygiene Administration, Mental Health Management Agency of Frederick, Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency, MD TBI Advisory Board. Methods: (1) Individualized resource coordination, and linkage to appropriate services. (2) Brain injury awareness training provided to more than 203 mental health and human service providers. Results: (1) Resource Coordination provided to 34 individuals; 84% satisfaction with services. (2) Training evaluations indicated 41% increase in TBI awareness among attendees. (3) Products-Resource Coordination Handbook, 5 PowerPoints. Conclusions: Resource coordination coupled with training of members of a community's human service providers improves access to appropriate services to individuals with TBI.
