Abstract

 In patients with diabetes who need regular hemodialysis, statin drugs may not reduce the risk of stroke, according to a study. In fact, patients on atorvastatin (Lipitor) were twice as likely to die of a stroke as those who didn't take the cholesterol-lowering drug.
