It has long been my opinion that nurses are their own worst enemies. It's not only the way we dress, how we speak, and how we conduct ourselves in the workplace-it is also how we allow ourselves to be treated.

I have been a nurse for eight years and can no longer work at the bedside. The stress from the many indignities I experienced is too much. I don't in any way condone the way that nurse expressed her anger toward Ms. Mason, but I empathize deeply with the frustration and anger any nurse feels.
