Effective leaders are those individuals who are capable of influencing and impacting others, regardless of the positions they occupy and the titles they wear. This session is designed to explore the foundation of effective leadership and offer direction for those who desire to enhance their personal level of leadership. Specific session content may include: leadership defined for the 21st century, contrasting "leadership" and "management," the four management functions, the ESSENTIAL element of leadership, two types of authority, two motivational truths, six common behavior patterns of people, and six steps to effective one-on-one communication.

 

Section Description

We are pleased to present the Abstracts from the SGNA's 32nd Annual Course: Passion for GI Nursing: Pass It On!! The diversity of these topics certainly reflects the richness and breadth of our specialty. In keeping with the tradition of the Annual Course, we hope the following abstracts will encourage discussions for improving nursing practice and patient care outcomes.
