Documentation, everybody does it. But, would your documentation protect you from a malpractice suit? This session will explore potential areas of high risk in the gastroenterology practice setting and demonstrate defensible documentation techniques in various situations. Learn how to document less but say more. Various documentation examples will be examined and improved documentation suggested. A live "mock" deposition of a gastroenterology nurse will be presented and tips to avoid liability exposure will be explored. Special emphasis will focus on pre- and postprocedure calls, leaving messages, etc. Leave this presentation with documentation tips and techniques to make documentation fun, save time, and protect you from litigation.

We are pleased to present the Abstracts from the SGNA's 32nd Annual Course: Passion for GI Nursing: Pass It On!! The diversity of these topics certainly reflects the richness and breadth of our specialty.
