FIGURE I am interested in the nursing profession. I have a sister and several close relatives and friends who are registered nurses. I feel they have worked hard to be able to use "R.N." after their names.
There should be some way to distinguish all registered nurses from practical nurses, cosmeticians, or receptionists.... A small emblem often worn on the uniform pocket or sleeve with the name of the state on top and "Registered Nurse" below would be enough to let the public know who's who-that a nurse is not just anyone who dons a white uniform and stockings, and gathers undeserved glances of respect from the average layman on the street.
