WHEN A PACEMAKER FAILS to function properly, you need to take immediate action to correct the problem. The strips shown below illustrate problems that can occur with a temporary pacemaker; if the actions described don't correct the problem, immediately seek help. Remember to continue assessing and treating the patient as you troubleshoot the problem.
