AbstractThe majority of patients with anxiety disorders present in primary care settings, and many are undiagnosed or undertreated—each disorder has defining characteristics. Anxiety disorders are debilitating, and proper treatment can improve quality of life. Preferred treatments are cognitive-behavior therapy and pharmacotherapy with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
