I've been a supporter of BSN-for-RN entry since I graduated in 1968, when there was a resolution to establish this standard in the near future ("A Failure to Rescue Ourselves," Viewpoint, November 2010). So often when I state my support for this requirement in a group of nurses, I encounter either outright hostility or silence (no one is willing to join in the debate).

It's indeed time that we joined together to recognize the advantages of and necessity for having a bachelor's degree to become a nurse.
